So you think that you just read a typo or the ranting and raving of a mad man! You may not be too far off, but hear me out! We can prove that about 650,000 are released from prisons across the home of the brave, land of the free every year! What most tax payers do not realize is that about five million people are released from county jails each year!
So what? When a person is charged with a crime and locked in the county jail, many
cannot make bail, so they can lose their job, and last but not least, their self respect!
It is my opinion that the American way of life, and our quality of life will be severely threatened by this, not so new, wave of self destructive behavior which our American injustice system has brought to our door step!

Yesterday I posed this question to a class I was teaching at a local correctional facility! I asked, what happens to the Football team with the poorest record in the NFL at draft time? Immediately the group chimed out, they get the #1, draft pick!
My next question was, WHY? The answer came quickly! When the weakest team is supported, ti strengthens the entire NFL system! Now remember that these were accused felons with varying degrees of intelligence and education! What struck me was that they could clearly see the fairness of this system at work!
So I then queried, since America knows that the under served in our community have the greatest need for support and assistance, why are we not doing that?

I have coined a couple of phrases borrowed in part from AA. I call failure to use an obvious solution, UCPTI leading to PB! Which means (Unconscious Contempt Prior To Investigation) leads to PB or Paradigm Blindness! This might explain ‘The New Jim Crow’ by Michelle Alexander.
A few years back I was informed by people whom I trust that scientific information and discoveries would double every 11 hours by 2016! It seems that we had better get ready for some serious Paradigm Blindness!

The first thing that I need to do is to apologize to everyone on the internet! At 70 when I first discovered Protandim and began to read what clinical trials studies from 20 NCAA schools, pubmed.gov, bscg.org, athletes, 23 yr. old Arabian Mares and formerly ill people had to say on youtube testimonials I got a overly excited!
Let me say this and I truly mean it! I understand why you would not want to live to be 100! I see how poor people are treated in some nursing homes! I truly understand resisting change! Change is a painful! But guess what? Resisting change may be a greater pain! As a matter of fact the most unhappy people I know are the ones who resist change! I was angry with people for not seeing what I saw! My IQ is about 140 and It took me 3 years to really get Protandim becuase it is such a quantum leap for science! By the way, I’m told that by 2016 scientific information will double every 11 hrs.
I then thought, so what if people do not want to be healthy and live a long life while experiencing high level wellness? I thought that surely boomers would flock to me because I am teaching formerly incarcerated people (with violent & other criminal backgrounds) how to earn money via the internet so that we can reduce both crime and the number victims affected by crime and the number of parents locked up in prison! This reduces the number of children raised in poverty! This reduces crime across the board! I’ve read that 650,000 people are released from prison every year while, stay with me, 5 million are released from county jails! Please see The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander!
When a person is locked up in the county jail for more than a week or two, they can lose their job, and then their apartment and then their transportation and be reduced to homelessness! Pulling oneself up without bootstraps is quite a formidable challenge!
And then Asian doctors with MBA’s started purchasing Protandim from me and I forgot all of the above. I then met with the owner of a semi-pro basketball team who happened to be a retired MD! And things just kept getting better!

When I discovered late that the great Jusuf Islam, aka Cat Stevens had been inducted into the hall of fame, I was quite jubilant!
While this yarn is quite worn, Ill spin it yet again! When I was 30 I bought a guitar and decided that I wanted to be a performing artist, of the San Francisco Street Poet, Cat Stevens, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, Tag Mahal, Muddy Waters, John lee Hooker John Prine variety!
The fact that I was working two jobs, Machinist Helper by day, waiter by night, did not deter me!
I bought a Gurian Acoustic guitar with an extra wide almost classical neck and steel strings, and began to develop my craft as a wordsmith!
One year later a friend asked me to perform for Cat Stevens in hope that Steve as Cat Stevens was called by his band, would listen to me!
When Cat Stevens now Jususf Islam entered the room with his posse, he sat on a couch uncomfortably close to me! He was then accompanied by a fairly large gentleman who I decided must be his body guard! I found out later the gentleman was Jean Rousseau his piano player!
The song which I chose to play simply fell apart in my mind from sheer nervousness of having a guy listen to me who had performed to more than 20,000 people in the Portland Oregon Coliseum the night before!
His smile was warm, and his hair was long. The first question I asked was, “How did you get into the music business? Jusuf Islam, aka Cat Stevens literally burried his face in his hands in his lap and shook his head from side to side groaning as if I had brought up an undesirable and quite painful event!
He then said as he shook his wonderful mane from side to side while raising his face slowly to meet my now less nervous gaze! ” They (Warner Brothers Records) hated my voice! They wanted me to be a songwriter. I had to go back to the UK and find the money to produce my first album!
This friendly conversation made me feel more relaxed and I dived into one of my favorite songs written about a former Priest and friend of mind by the name of Reese who had opened up a Group Home for runaway teens in Portland Oregon called Harris’ Mothers’!
Jusuf leaned back and gave me a smile and a nod, which meant to me, lets see what you got?
This time I was much more confident and felt accepted by Jusuf’s friendly manner.
I boldly belted out,
“My friend Reese was a priest until he kicked the habit!
He found God out in the street not only in the Abbey!
Some folks thought him crazy,
Others thought him quite odd.

When I finished the song, it felt like the room had risen in temperature by 20 degrees!
The fist thing the Jusuf Islam said was,”Wow! You have something to say!” While I have told that story 1000 times plus, I never do so without feeling total gratitude for my friend, the maitre D at the London Bar and Grill who literally risked his job in order to help me get a chance to play for Jusuf Islam aka Cat Stevens!
And so in closing, I would be remiss if I did not send a Shout Out to Jusuf Islam with a request that I be your opening act when you tour North America!
